Hi I'm Brendan 'Sully' Sullivan and I'm a game artist!
I specialise in both 2D and 3D art having professionally studied game design for 2 years and self-taught myself in several software packages along the way. I am fond of a stylised, hand-painted art style for 3D and do a lot of pixel art and animation - sometimes even blending the pixel art into the 3D medium! I love coming up with fun new ways to approach art and design and do my best to create appealing characters and worlds for other people to enjoy!
As lead 3D environment artist it is my responsibility to concept and create a myriad of props and small animations for several different scenes in a pixel-textured art style. These scenes range from interiors to exteriors, and include simple 2D textures (ground / wall materials) as well as props like cars and furniture. I am also involved in the creation of materials / shaders and their implementation into the Unity3D game engine.
As lead 3D environment artist it was my responsibility to concept and create several 3D props for the interior of a bedroom scene. Since 'The Hex' was primarily a 2D game, I had to try and apply the same visual aesthetic to the 3D assets and ensure the art style was cohesive throughout the game.
As pixel artist and lead animator it was my responsibility to animate existing character designs, as well as add to and modify them as needed. I also took part in the creation of UI assets (buttons, dialogue boxes, health indicators, pickups etc.) as well as FX work.
As a Marketing Intern it was my responsibility to help coordinate, manage and promote advertising, as well as design promotional art as the game went through development.
